We went on a public holiday to celebrate a couple's anniversary. The wait for service was deplorable. Our waiter was very pleasant but confessed that it was his first (and last) day as he was just in to help out. It took forever for food to arrive and some of the orders were incorrect. There was no attention paid to the table in terms of following up for additional drinks orders etc. And I had to ask twice for the table to be cleared once we were done eating because the flies were becoming an unbearable nuisance. It got to the point where I just kept going up to the kitchen area to get what I needed instead of having to wait on them to get back to me. Perhaps they were overwhelmed. I could tell that other tables were complaining. It was obvious that some even left once they realised that the wait times and service were not what they should have been. The lady who seemed like the manager also had more of an attitude than any of the general wait staff. On the bright side my seafood chowder starter was delicious! And I couldn't get enough of their fresh lime squash. Would have certainly ordered another if anyone had bothered to pay attention. I had the grilled snapper...the portion was generous and the fish was cooked well but lacked seasoning and sauce. The coconut creme pie was also nice albeit completely frozen in the middle. Would consider going back during off-peak time if someone really convinced me to go...just for the chowder and lime squash!
