::Don't book if you don't want to be overcharged. Any partner such Agoda, Booking won't help you here.

::I believe the owner is using misleading practices to make extra money. I paid at the time of booking; however, when I arrived the owner told me that my card would be refunded and that he would need to charge a different card at a higher rate. Because I had nowhere else to go and it was already evening, I didn't feel I had many options. I negotiated down a little, but still wound up paying around 40% more than the original booking price. I have since noticed that many other reviewers have similar stories about this place, so I suspect this is something of a scam he is running.

::It was one of the worst places we have ever been. Contacting was really bad or it didn’t exist at all. We asked many times if the owner was going to pick us up from the airport, but we didn’t get a good answer the day before we arrived. (We had already paid for the transportation.) When we arrived at the airport he didn’t answer at all. A taxi driver called him and finally he came almost two hours late. He had said to the taxi driver that he overslept. When we went to the gesthouse, our room wasn’t ready, after 8 pm! He started to clean our room and we got it after nine. We immediately noticed that the room was not the one we had booked. He said that there is only one room available, and that the rooms are all the same (which is a lie). We could either take it or leave, in which case he would return our money. If you are tired and in a new city you don’t want to look for a new accomodation at that time at night. So we took the room. Next morning he came and told us my credit card was not working! I had paid for the room almost one month ago. So he was doing something behind our backs, and canceled our second day reservation. We had to leave from the accomodation. He lied to us all the time. So, be very careful if you are booking that accomodation!!! I can’t recommend that place!!! Only one good thing, we got back our money of the second day booking. You can also read other people’s opinions of him on other websites.

::From start to finish we were treated with the utmost respect and excellent service! Prince and Miss Jacobs make an excellent team and keep the accommodation spotlessly clean. The guesthouse is in a very safe and friendly residential neighbourhood and we had absolutely no issue with walking around the area day or night for the duration of time we were there ( one month). Prince will absolutely go out of his way to ensure you are comfortable and have everything you need. Going way beyond what is required of a budget accommodation. We have personal experience of witnessing his frustration and upset while relentlessly chasing up a repair on a faulty aircon unit in a guest’s room. We will have no hesitation whatsoever staying here on future visits to Antigua, and we are extremely happy to have met them both, and due to the care, hospitality and respect shown to us, we are now happy to call them friends. Thank You!!!!!! Please see my review on Tripadvisor also, for more information about getting around.

::Theft by guest house manager Don't book there or at least do not use your credit card to do so, if you do not want to risk losing money, stolen by the guesthouse! I had booked accommodation for two nights at Eko Cozy Guest House, with Booking.com - non-refundable. Due to a positive PCR-Test (no symptoms), a day before departure of my booked flight, I had not been permitted to travel to Antigua but had to quarantine instead. My request for a refund due to these particular circumstances, was declined by the guesthouse manager, with the comment that he would pray for me. Disgusted with his cheap comment in this context, I (better shouldn't have but) did reply back, that I could not stop him profiteering from me without having provided any service, but would wonder what goods he was praying to. Eko Cozy Guest House charged my credit card with approx. 1.5 times the due amount. After my complaint to Booking.com, the guesthouse management replied the price had just risen due to new booking conditions and refused refunding the overcharged amount, since 'I had not been nice', as they stated. However, an accommodation supplier is bound by the booking conditions valid at the time of booking. Further, the booking conditions of Eko Cozy Guest House, stated at Booking.com, remained unchanged, as I confirmed. It was new and shocking for me to learn, that Booking.com provides accommodation providers with all required credit card details, when cancelling, leaving it entirely to the accommodation - unchecked, if and how much they will charge. Booking.com did accept my claim and refunded to me the amount I had been overcharged by the guesthouse, but did not appear to back-charge the guesthouse, presumably since the contested amount would not justify the effort enforcing this refund. If so, not a really satisfying conclusion, since the guesthouse got away with theft, and may do so again to others. In case this place has not yet been closed down by authorities, book there at your own peril!
